Bootcamps make it to BBC Spotlight

Date: 18 Nov

Skills Bootcamps offer free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks for adults aged 19 or over and who are either in work or recently unemployed. Some Skills Bootcamps have additional eligibility criteria.

There is a range of Bootcamps available across Cornwall focusing on specific skills gaps faced here.

The programme is funded through the National Skills Fund as part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs, which includes a range of digital and technical Skills Bootcamps that have been designed to help local people advance or pivot their skills towards growing sectors that are resilient to the current economic downturn.

Since BBC Spotlight’s feature above, Truro and Penwith College received 25 applications for Bootcamps (across Technical & Digital) and an Employer got in touch to offer a job interview to the two welding learners featured! A huge thank you to BBC Spotlight for featuring the Bootcamps which has led to this incredible response.
