Digital Bootcamps

Cornwall’s Digital Skills Partnership worked alongside colleagues at Heart of the South West to successfully bid to deliver digital and technical skills bootcamps across the south west region.

The training is designed by employers in industry to meet their open and live vacancies.

The programme, funded through the National Skills Fund as part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs, includes a range of digital and technical Skills Bootcamps that have been designed to help local people advance or pivot their skills towards growing sectors that are resilient to the current economic downturn.

Truro & Penwith college is currently offering Skills Bootcamps in Digital and Technical careers, with start dates in October and January. The first date of each Skills Bootcamp be an Introduction and Assessment Session to provide further information on the programme and to check learner suitability.

Digital Marketing

This 12-week Skills Bootcamp in Digital Marketing is for people who wish to retrain or gain practical skills and knowledge in Digital Marketing.

You will study a range of practical and theoretical subjects that will prepare you for progressing to an Apprenticeship, further study, employment in this sector, or will help you gain the skill and knowledge to enable you to add Digital Marketing duties to your current role, including marketing planning, SEO, copywriting, WordPress maintenance and website and social media analytics reporting.

You will also experience employer talks with industry specialists to enable you to progress within your current role or assist you with your progression into employment and your fast-track job interview on completion of the course.

Computer Programming

This 16-week Skills Bootcamp in Computer Programming is for people who wish to retrain to gain practical skills and knowledge in Programming and Software Development.

You will study a range of practical and theoretical subjects that will prepare you for progression onto an Apprenticeship, further study, or employment in this sector.

You will also experience employer talks to assist you with your progression into employment and your fast-track job interview on completion of the course.

There are over 600 individuals who have completed Skills Bootcamps already this year,  in a range of subject areas that include python, DevOps, software development, data science, digital marketing, digital healthcare, cyber, IT, welding, electrical engineering, photonics.
